Obituaries ies VICKY BREAZEALE HATTIESBURG Vicky Breazeale, 28, died Feb. 13, 2005, at Forrest General Hospital. Memorial services will be held at a later date with burial in Roseland Park Cemetery. Ms. Breazeale was a Baptist.

Survivors include her father, Karl Breazeale of Pennsylvania; her maternal grandmother, Helen Williams of Seminary; a sister, Brandy Breazeale of Pearl. She was preceded in death by her mother, Brenda S. Williams. HAZEL CHAMBLISS SLADE PURVIS Hazel Chambliss Slade, 87, died Feb. 26, 2006, at her residence.

Services were Feb. 19 at HulettWinstead Purvis Chapel with burial in the Coaltown Cemetery. Mrs. Slade was a self-employed seamstress for more than 60 years and a member of Good Hope Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, Glen Chambliss of Hattiesburg and Sidney C.

"Buddy" Slade Jr. of Purvis; five. daughters, Betty Ruth Powell of Livingston, Nena R. Morgan of Addis, Cathy L. Broadus and Sandy Pierpont, both of Purvis and Susan Oubre of Hattiesburg; two sisters, Cora Dobson of Seminary and Jeneva Lewis of Hattiesburg; 33 grandchildren and 51 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death of her husbands, Barney E. Chambliss Sr. and S.C. Slade Sr. and two sons, Barney E.

Chambliss Jr. and Jerry Slade and a daughter, Sarah E. Chambliss. H.G. TALBERT FOLEY, ALA.

H.G. Talbert, 86, died Feb. 18, 2006, at Thomas Hospital in Fairhope, Ala. Services were Feb. 20 at Hulett-Winstead Chapel with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Mr. Talbert was a retired food broker and Wold WARM BAUCH 06 2220 DEBORAH AYN PARRIS SMITH HATTIESBURG Deborah Ayn Parris Smith, 56, died Feb. 15, 2005. Services were Feb. 18 at Moore Funeral Chapel with burial in Highland Cemetery.

Mrs. Smith had worked as an X- ray technician at Veteran's Hospital in New Orleans and was active in the Rainbow Girls and the Eastern Star Survivors include her husband, Robert "Rob" Smith of Hattiesburg; a son, Joshua Parris Smith of Metairie, a brother, Harold "Hank" Parris Jr. of Hattiesburg; a sister, Becky Parris Kinard of Fort Worth, Texas; her mother-in-law, Mrs. Willard Smith of Kenner, brothers-in-law, John Steven Smith of Kenner and James C. Smith of Pasadena, Texas; a sister-in-law, Edna Kendrick of Kenner; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Rose Parris and her father-in-law, Lloyd Smith. Memorials may be made to the Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund. FAYE WHIDDON HOWELL PURVIS Faye Whiddon Howell, 74, died Feb. 16, 2006, at her home. Services were Feb.

18 at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Purvis with burial in Pineridge-Hartfield Cemetery. Mrs. Howell was a homemaker and member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. Survivors include five sons, Harlan Eugene Whiddon of LaCombe, Troy D. Whiddon, Wayne Howell and Mike Howell, all of Purvis and Jerry Howell of Petal; her mother, Celia Mae Hartfield of Purvis; four sisters, Lorena Steward of Picayune, Jean Vincent of Purvis, Pearlies Housley of Heidelburg and Brenda Vincent of Hendersonville, N.C.; a brother, J.R.

Hartfield of Purvis; 1 numerous grandchildren: and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her bor 0 father, Bennie Hartfield and husbands, Troy L. Whiddon and T. R. Howell.

MARGUERITE J. RAINEY HATTIESBURG Marguerite J. Rainey, 82, died Feb. 14, 2006, at Forrest General Hospital. Services were Feb.

17 at Moore Funeral Home in Hattiesburg with burial in Highland Cemetery. Dr. George Berger officiated. Mrs. Rainey was retired from Moore Funeral Service, was a longtime crossing guard for Camp Elementary School and was a member of First Assembly of God in Hattiesburg.

Survivors include two daughters, Belinda Pittman of Gulfport and Anita Jordan of Petal; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. FLOYE WHEELUS THORP DIAMONDHEAD Floye Wheelus Thorp, 92, died Feb. 11, 2006, at Forrest General Hospital. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Mrs.

Thorp was a retired legal secretary and member of Diamondhead Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, James A. McPherson of Poplarville; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Cedric Thorp. JANET TERRESON SIMS HATTIESBURG Janet Terreson Sims, 68, died Feb.

16, 2006, at her residence. A family memorial service will be held at a later date. Survivors include a brother, Robert Harold Terreson Jr. of Moss Point. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harley Lee Sims.

Degrummond Collection to host Curious George party With the children's book character Curious George gaining renewed fame with the recent release of his own movie, the staff at the University of Southern Mississippi's de Grummond Children's Literature Collection believe now is a good time to show off its collection of artifacts depicting the famous monkey. Ivey was a self truck driver for more than 20. years then became disabled. Survivors include a son, John Ivey Jr. of Texas; a daughter, Wendy Ivey of Picayune; his mother, Margaret Ivey of Hattiesburg; three sisters, Linda Bankston of Hattiesburg, Mary Slade of Purvis and Jeanie Day of Ocean Springs; a brother, Bill Ivey of Hattiesburg and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by hisfather, Lawrence Ivey.

Mrs. Lott was a homemaker and member of Main Street Baptist Church. She was the granddaughter of Dan Sumrall for which the town of Sumrall received its name. Mr. McDaniel was self-employed as a welder and was a member of Morriston Jesus Name Church. Survivors include his wife, Mildred B. A lifelong resident of Richton, Mr. Dykes was employed with Burnie Dykes Logging Co. in Richton as a logger. He also worked as a derrick hand in the oil field for several years. The Pipe organ in Bay Street Presbyterian Church was built by M.

P. Moller, Manufacturer and builder of pipe organs, Hager-stown, Maryland, in the year 1922 as their Opus 3270. It is the oldest pipe organ in the city of Hattiesburg, and since its complete rebuild, it is also the newest and one of the grandest On Aug. 29, 1995, a contract agreement was signed with Pipe Organ Specialties, Inc. out of Laurel to completely rebuild the 673 Pipe Organ for total amount of $48,448.50, which included the chimes and new wiring needed.

The actual work began in August 1996 and was completed on June, 1997. With memorials and individual donations the organ renovation was paid in full within a year. On July 13, 1997, the newly renovated Moller Pipe Organ was dedicated in a special Sunday service to the Glory of God and in loving memory and in recognition of Lucille Holloway's many years of service to the Lord. She was Bay Street Organist from 1931 until her retirement in 1974. Since then organists have been Hank Wilkinson, Gwen Probst, Cathy Vinson Winters, Rick West, Billy Lewis, and Pamela Finch.

The present organist, David Stockstill, began at Bay Street Church in 1994. He has an M.Ed Degree from U.S.M. and has studied under the direction of Dr. Ferdinand Dunkey of the Royal College of Organists, Londaon, and with a number of other distinguished organ teachers, both American and European. David is also a very accomplished harpist.

Historically, the organ shares the distinction with the harp as being the most ancient musical instruments known to man.
