Green of the Dixie Community. HATTIESBURG Pat Mantooth, 67, died July 9, 2006, at Forrest General Hospital. Services were July 13 at Dixie United Methodist Church with burial in the Dixie Cemetery. Mr. Mantooth was retired and attended Dixie United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Lynda Mantooth of Hattiesburg; a son, Maj. Randall Mantooth of Hattiesburg; two daughters, Sara Cooper of Ridgeland and Melissa Pfeiffer of Chapel Hill, K.C.; a sister, Billie Poole of Beaumont, Texas and five grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Dixie United Methodist Church, 39 Trail-A-Way Lane, Hattiesburg, MS 39401. PAUL KAMPE COLLINS Paul Kampe died July 14, 2006, at the Veteran's Home in Collins. Services were at Moore Funeral Chapel in Hattiesburg with burial in Providence Cemetery.

Mr. Kampe worked for 30 years as a laborer for Big Yank Corporation and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Survivors include a son, Edward Kampe of Hattiesburg; two daughters, Nancy Powe and Jean Plante, both of Hattiesburg; a sister, Mary Gombarick of Lakewood, Ohio; and four grandchildren. Johnnie Johnson, Richard Hall, Phillip Creel, Johnathan Douglas and Russell Barnett will serve as pallbearers. MOLLY MCALPIN SOSO Molly McAlpin, 66, died July 15, 2006, at her home in Soso.

Services were July 18 at Moore Funeral Chapel in Hattiesburg with burial in Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. McAlpin was self-employed as a seamstress and a member of the Baptist faith. Survivors include her husband, J.D. McAlpin of Soso; five sons, Larry O'Gwynn of Baton Rouge, Greg McAlpin of Hattiesburg and Isaac Williams, Tim McAlpin and Derek McAlpin, all of Soso; a daughter, Pauline Worthington of Lumberton; two brothers, Vestell Hollingsworth and Henry Hollingsworth, both of Hattiesburg; two sisters, Lorena Draughon of Hattiesburg and Jean Peacock of New Augusta; nine grandchildren and two great-grandsons.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Buford and Elma Hollingsworth; two husbands, Weldon O'Gwynn and Floyd Williams; a sister, Elnora Walters; a daughter, Mary O'Gwynn and two sons, Terry O'Gwynn and Jerry O'Gwynn. FRANK MCDANIEL BEAUMONT Frank McDaniel, 71, died July 15, 2006, at his home in Beaumont. Services were July 17 at Church of God of Avery with burial in Beaumont Cemetery. The Rev. Gerald Walley officiated.

Mr. McDaniel was retired from Delta Pine and was a member of Church of God of Avery. Survivors include four sons, Howard McDaniel and Johnathan McDaniel, both of Beaumont, Larry McDaniel of Sand Hill and Tommy dren and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by bis wife, Eula Mae Waits; two brothers, Clayburn Waits and Rubert Waits, a son, Ernest E. Waits, and a daughter, Rhonda Ann Waits.

NICHOLAS WALTER DUDLEY HATTIESBURG Nicholas Walter Dudley, 25, died July 14, 2006. in Lamar County. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 19 at Moore Funeral Chapel in Hattiesburg with burial in Highland Cemetery. The Rev.

Randy Wilson will officiate. Mr. Dudley had worked in construction for the past five years and attended First Baptist Church in Hattiesburg. Survivors include his mother, Rita M. Dudley of Hattiesburg; his father and stepmother, Walter and Tracy M.

Dudley of Hattiesburg; a sister, Hana Dudley of Hattiesburg; his grandparents, Ed and Dorothy Dudley and Evola and Jackie Terry, all of Hattiesburg; two nieces, Kaitlynn Byrd and Kenlee Byrd both of Hattiesburg. He was preceded in death by his great-grandmothers, Ethelyn McRaney, Minnie Bryant and Sadie McMahan and a great-grandfather, Jack Terry. DOROTHY MCLENDON BROOKLYN Dorothy McLendon, 48, died July 15, 2006, in Carnes, Services were July 19 at Black Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Brooklyn with burial in the family cemetery. Bro. Bill Morris, Bro.

Frank Dickens and Bro. Lester Davis officiated. Mrs. McLendon was a homemaker and a member of Black Creek Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Cull Leroy McLendon of Brooklyn; a daughter, Eulis Irene Cochran of Waynesboro; two sons, Otis Thomas.

She was preceded in death by her father, Van T. Woods. Pallbearers were Mark Collum, James Collum, Jessee Jefferson, Cliff Evans, Mike Lee, Shirley Wayne Gibson, Jerry Wayne Gibson and L.E. Bond.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 6652 U.S. Highway 90, Suite 4, Hattiesburg, Mississippi 39402. THE REV. ARCHIE LEIGH MEADOWS McCARLEY The Rev. Archie Leigh Meadows, 91, died July 9, 2006, at his home.

Services were July 1 1 at Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Winona with burial in the Lumberton City Cemetery in Lumberton. The Rev. Vickie Landrum and the Rev. Allen Bailey The Rev. Meadows was born in Crawford.

The retired Methodist minister had served in Greenwood, Drew, Starkville and Oxford. He retired more than 20. years ago but continued his ministry through Sunday School classes at North Carrollton United Methodist Church and area hospitals. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Syble H. Meadows of McCarley; his sister, Beth Brown of Winona and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Dr. David L. Meadows Sr. and William Gregory Meadows. Pallbearers were Dave Meadows, Sean Meadows, Michael Meadows, Skipper Grantham, Walter Billups, Mike Smith and Ernest Sanders.

Memorials may be sent to the Greg Meadows Memorial Scholarship Fund at Millsaps College, 1701 N. State Street, Jackson, MS 39210. CAROL E. MICHAUD HATTIESBURG Carol E. Michaud, 93, died July 6, 2006, at Wesley Medical Center.

Graveside services were July 9 at Tallowah Cemetery. Mrs. Michaud was retired from the Pentagon in Washington D.C. and was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Hattiesburg. Survivors, include 4, a brother, Alton Hemba of Port St.

Lucie, Fla. and a number nieces and nephews. DELIA DUBOSE GREEN DIXIE Delia Dubose Green, 84, died July 7, 2006, at River Ridge Hospice in New Orleans, La. Services were July 11 at Dixie Baptist Church. Burial was in Clear Branch Cemetery.

Mrs. Green was a retired cashier for in Hattiesburg and a member of Dixie Baptist Church. DORIS B. RIVERS PICAYUNE Doris B. Rivers, 89, died July 10, 2006, at Highland Community Hospital in Picayune.

Services were July 14 at Moore Funeral Chapel in Petal with burial in Highland Cemetery. The Rev. Lynette Little officiated. Mrs. Rivers was bom in 1917 in Glenmore, La.

She was the former owner of Rivers of Petal, a member of Petal United Methodist Church and Eastern Star. Survivors include three sons, James W. Rivers, Jr. of Littleton, Jack M. Rivers of Carriere and Jerry E.

Rivers of Petal; 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Rivers, Sr. JOAN LEE PATTON POPLARVILLE Joan Lee Patton, 54, died July 10, 2006. at her home in Purvis.

Services were July 13 at Moore Funeral Chapel in Purvis with burial in Clear Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Mike Lee officiated. Mrs. Patton was a homemaker and of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors include her husband, David Patton of Purvis; two sons, Terence Patton and Lane Patton, both of Purvis; her parents, LeRoy and Julia Lee of Purvis; and a brother, Joe Lee of Picayune. She was preceded in death by a daughter, LeAnn Patton. BETTY BANKSTON BLACKLEDGE HATTIESBURG Betty Bankston Blackledge died July 10, 2006, at her home in Hattiesburg. Services were July 13 at Moore Funeral Chapel in Hattiesburg with burial in Highland Cemetery. Dr.

Jimmy Stewart and Rev. Ken Hopkins officiated. Mrs. Blackledge retired from the -JJniversity of Southern Mississippi in 2004 where she had worked as a secretary. She was the 20th star of the DAR, had formerly served as the chairperson of the South Central Mississippi Red Cross and was a member of Temple Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Sam Blackledge of Hattiesburg; a daughter and son-in-law, Lee and Tracy Runnels of Hattiesburg; a sister, Rebecca Serio of Merritte Island, Fla. and two grandsons. She was preceded in death by her brother, Roy Bankston, Jr. KENNETH H. PATTERSON HATTIESBURG Kenneth H.

Patterson, 79, died July 7, 2006, at Wesley JSZSSZS Medical Center. Services were July 10 at West Black Creek Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Mr. Patterson was the owner of Patterson Volkswagon Repair Shop, was a founding charter member of West Black Creek Baptist Church and a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, i Survivors include his wife, Louise Lott Patterson of Hattiesburg; a son, Perry Patterson of Hattiesburg; two daughters, Becky J.

Cucullu of Diamondhead and Lisa J. Martin of Brooklyn; four sisters, Eunice Broome and Bessie Ruth Broome, both of Sumrall, Carmen Kinmon of Ellisville and Annette Waggoner of Arkansas; three brothers, Julius Patterson of Hattiesburg and Ross and Gerald Patterson, both of Ellisville; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the West Black Creek Baptist Church. ANDY HILLMAN PETAL Andy Hillman, 53, died July 8, 2006, at Forrest General Hospital. Graveside services were July 12 at Forrest Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Hillman was a retired with. the. Hattiesburg School System, a member of Petal-Harvey Baptist Church and a member of the Petal Moose Lodge. Survivors include his wife, Anne Hillman of Petal; two sons, David and Billy Hillman, both of Petal; a daughter, Beth Hillman of Petal; two sisters, Allie Hall of DeKalb and Tonia Graham of Moselle; three; brothers, Lavon Lambert of N.C., Randall Lambert of Felton, Del.

and James Seales of Kansas City, Kan. and four grandchildren. PAT MANTOOTH HAROLD G. BRADLEY RUNNELSTOWN Harold G. "Buddy" Bradley, 61, died July 14 2006, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg.

Services were July 17 at Moore Funeral Chapel in Petal with burial in Loyd Walters Cemetery in Runnelstown. The Rev, Lavern Rodgers and the Rev. Ronnie Walters officiated. Mr. Bradley was a mechanic working on small engines and a member of Bethel Assembly of Godf Survivors include his wife, Liz Bradley of Runnelstown; a Kelly Bradley Davidson of Petal; a brother, Marshall Bradley of Runnelstown; five sisters, Rachel Posey and Martha Creel, both of Runnelstown, Bobbie Kimball, Ethel Hall and Georgia Rodgers, all of Petal and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Helen Bradley and a brother, Harold Loyd Bradley. Pallbearers were Jay Manasco, Carroll Manasco, Terry Rodgers, auto accident claims life of JCJC administrator Louisiana ELLISVILLE He was planning to retire in two years, however a tragic car accident near Golden Meadows, claimed the life of 59-year-old Jones County Junior College vice president of Student Affairs Dan Jones. He and his oldest son, Cape, were on their way to South Louisiana to go fishing for the weekend. Dan was taken to an area hospital around 2 p.m. Friday, however he died almost an hour later.

His son was discharged from the hospital around 4 p.m. Friday afternoon. "This is a terrible loss for the Jones family. We are saddened by this news," said JCJC President, Dr. Jesse Smith.

"He was our senior vice president and he takes with him a wealth of knowledge about JCJC, a kind and witty spirit, and a deep commitment to helping students. He knew how to Uve life to the fullest and we will miss him more than words can express. Our deepest sympathies are with his family." The Collins native began teaching watch and jewelry repair at Jones in 1972, making his tenure currently the longest of any employee at Jones.
