Mrs. Reid was a charter member of the Mary Ann Randolph Custis Lee Purvis Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy and was the present recording secretary for the state of Mississippi. She was a member of Sand Hill Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Gene Reid of Lumberton; two sons, Bo Reid and John Reid, both of Purvis; a daughter, Donna Saundry of Poplarville; two sisters, Gayle Simmons of Carnes and Tami Rutledge of Collins; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. LAURA T.TAYLOR HATTIESBURG Laura T. Taylor, 50, died Aug. 9, 2006, at her residence. Services were Aug. 15 at Hulett-Winstead Chapel with burial in Highland Cemetery.

Mrs. Taylor was employed with International Filing Company and was a member of the Catholic faith. Survivors include her husband, Jesse J. Taylor Sr. of Hattiesburg; two stepsons, Kenneth Taylor of Laurel and Jesse J.

Taylor Jr. of Ellisville; a daughter, Elizabeth Pilar Taylor of Hattiesburg and two stepdaughters, Gwendolyn M. Taylor of Columbia and Donna Hollifield of Laurel; three sisters, Frenea Navarra, Teodora Vergara and Lilia Cadalso, all of the Phillippines; a brother, Diosdado Trayville of the Phillippines and a number of nieces and nephews. ELLA B. ROBERTS PETAL Ella B. Roberts, 90, died Aug. 1 1 2006, at her home in Petal. Services were Aug.

14 at Moore Funeral Chapel in Petal with burial in Forrest Memorial Gardens. Father Pat O'Shaughnessy officiated. Mrs. Roberts was a homemaker and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Survivors include a daughter, Veronica Winters of Pensacola, two sons, Ervin Roberts, Jr.

of Hattiesburg and Clifton Roberts of Petal; a sister, Agnes Campbell of Philadelphia, a brother, Jack Barton of Philadelphia, six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin E. Roberts, Sr. and a grandson, Charles Gregory Winters. PANSY DEFATTA HATTIESBURG Pansy DeFatta, 70, died Aug.

10, 2006, at Forrest General Hospital. Services were Aug. 15 at Moore Funeral Chapel in Hattiesburg with burial in Bethel Cemetery in Covington County. The Rev. Greg Burkes officiated.

Mrs. DeFatta was a homemaker and a member of 28th Avenue Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Rindy Stevens of Seminary and Donna Lomas of Hattiesburg; her mother, Tressie Dearman of Hattiesburg; a sister, Ina Dossett of Pensacola, a brother, Semian Dearman of Hattiesburg; 9 grandchildren and 15 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck DeFatta; a son, Nicky DeFatta; her father, Pleas Dearman and a sister, Patty Keys. Pallbearers were Tony Tisdale, Scottie Tisdale, Eric Cagle, Mathew Lomas, Marc Lomas, David Dearman and Timmy Dossett.

Honorary pallbearers were Joey Dossett and Donny Dearman. Henry R. "Coot" Odom, 74, died July 30, 2006, at his SSSSSS residence. Services were Aug. 2 at Jones and Son Chapel with burial in the Edwards Cemetery.

The Rev. Mark Ford officiated. Mr. Odom was a retired Sgt. 1st Class with the U.S.

Army from 1950-1972 where he served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Survivors include two sons, Charles "Chuck" Odom of Jackson and Blaine E. Odom of Crestview, a daughter, Tammala Denise "Tammy" White of Petal; two sisters, Patricia Davis of Forest and Jenny Jolly of Richton; four brothers, Narvel Odom of Petal and Edward H. Odom, Kenneth George Odom and Jessie Odom, all of Richton; four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ellis and Gladys Odom and a sister, Barbara Jean Dykes.

VINCENT THOMAS HARRINGTON HATTIESBURG Vincent Thomas Harrington, 95, died Aug. 5, 2006, at Hattiesburg Convalescent Center. Services were Aug. 9 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial in Highland Cemetery. Mr.

Harrington worked in construction as a painter and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Survivors include five sons, Bill Harrington of Hattiesburg, Jerry Harrington of Jacksonville, Earnie Harrington, Vince Harrington and Vaughn Harrington, all of Petal; five daughters, Floye Berry of Petal, Margaret Elequin of San Antonio, Texas, Janie Branham of Jacksonville, Bertie Lott and Barbara Alice of Hattiesburg; a brother, L.P. Harrington of Collins; 27 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren. AMANDA TANNER MCCOY PURVIS Amanda Tanner McCoy, 23, died Aug. 4, 2006, at her home in Purvis.

Services were Aug. 7 at Coaltown Baptist Church with burial in Pleasant Home Cemetery. The Rev. Jimmy Breazeale officiated. Mrs.

McCoy was a homemaker. Survivors include her husband, Kevin McCoy of Purvis; a son, Kaleb McCoy of Purvis; a daughter, Trinity McCoy of Purvis; her mother and stepfather, Barbara and Charles Chisholm; her father and stepmother, David and Angie Tanner; two sisters, Crystal Tanner and Mary McKean; three stepsisters, Tonya Chisholm, Sam Rayls and Sara Tanner; four stepbrothers, Timithy Chisholm, Charles Chisholm, Christopher Chisholm ELSIE KING OAK GROVE Elsie King, 79, died Aug. 9, 2006, at her home in Oak Grove. Services were Aug. 11 at Moore Funeral Chapel in Hattiesburg with burial in Richburg Cemetery.

The Rev. Jeff Floyd and the Rev. Doug Benedict officiated. Mrs. King was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Ethel McMahon of Oak Grove and Pat Stockstill of Hattiesburg; two sons, David King and Dale King, both of Hattiesburg; a brother, Ernest Breland of Glendale; two sisters, Mildred Fillingame of Hattiesburg and Sarah Wendel of Oak Grove. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Judy; two sons, Bob and John; a granddaughter and a grandson. Pallbearers were her grandsons. THOMAS WILLIAMS PETAL Thomas "Tom" Williams, 64, died Aug. 7, 2006, at Forrest General Hospital.

Services were Aug. 10 at Moore Funeral Chapel in Petal with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery. The Rev. W.A. Ferdham officiated.

Self-employed, Mr. Williams worked in construction as a carpen-ter. He was a member of Mt. Moriah Presbyterian Church in Newton and the Moose Lodge in Petal. Survivors include his wife, Sue Williams of Petal; two daughters, Marie Pope of Petal and Laurie Hyde of Vancleave; and two grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Maggie Chapman Williams; his father, Bill Williams; his stepmother, Laura Williams Presley and a sister, Shirley Williams. Pallbearers were Bobby Fennell, Paul Gregg, Wayne Howell, Wayne Hyde, Michael Pope and Ray Gibson. CAVIE L. COLLIER POPLARVILLE Cavie L. Collier, 79, died Aug.

12, 2006, at Highland Community Hospital in Picayune. Services were Aug. 14 at Poplarville Jesus Name Holiness Church with burial in the Oak Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Arthur B.

Duncan officiated. A native of Poplarville, Mrs. Collier was a member of the Poplarville Jesus Name Holiness Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was a homemaker. Survivors include three sons, Neil and Cindy Collier, Bruce Collier and Chris and Linda Collier, all of Poplarville; two sisters, Mattie Hilliard of Houston, Texas and Hazel Ivey of Ajo, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Brady Collier. LINDA JENKINS LUMBERTON Linda Jenkins, 58, died Aug. 13, 2006. Services were Aug. 15 at Little Black Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.

Bro. Jessie Ladner officiated. She was a member of Little Black Creek Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, James Jenkins of Lumberton; her mother, Lou Miller of Poplarville; Ben L. Calhoun 92, died Aug.

10, 2006, at Forrest ESSE5T General Hospital Services were Aug. 14 at Hulett-Winstead Chapel with burial in Roseland Park Cemetery. Mr. Calhoun was retired from the U.S. Postal service, a member of Bay Street Presbyterian Church and a U.S.

Army Veteran of World War II. Survivors include a son, Ben L. Calhoun Jr. of Hattiesburg; a daughter, Charlotte Hurt of Hattiesburg; three grandchildren and six greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rachael H.

Calhoun. Memorials may be made to the Palmer Home for Children in Columbus. DORIS E. HERNDON HATTIESBURG Doris E. Herndon, 71, died Aug.

10, 2006, at her residence. Services were Aug. 14 at Hulett-Winstead Chapel with burial in the Highland Cemetery. Mrs. Herndon was a retired accountant with the Hattiesburg Housing Authority and a member of First Presbyterian Church Survivors include her husband, Fred E.

Herndon of Hattiesburg; three sons, Michael M. Herndon, Gregory E. Herndon, both of Hattiesburg and Scott E. Herndon of Alexanderia, a daughter, Suzanne Yates of Hattiesburg; a sister, Christine Sease of Titusville, two brothers, Howard MaTchman Ga. -and William Marc'namot' Ourenss.C.

and five grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Forrest General Hospice. CORA ADELIA JONES CLARK HATTIESBURG Cora Adelia Jones Clark, 88, died Aug. 8, 2006, at her residence. Services were Aug.

13 at Jones Cemetery. Mrs. Clark was the granddaughter of the first mayor of Hattiesburg, O.H.P. Jones and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, William Franklin Rawls of Hattiesburg; a daughter, Martha Rawls Cook of Houston, Texas; a sister, Lenora Walker, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Benjamin Ray Rawls Sr. and Warren Clark and a son, Benjamin Ray Rawls Jr. EDNAREYER LUMBERTON Edna Reyer, 88, died Aug. 9, 2006, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg. Services were Aug.

12 at Olive Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Roland McMillian officiated. Mrs. Reyer was a member of Olive Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Byrd of Lumberton; four grandchildren. BRENDA REID LUMBERTON Brenda Reid, 51, died Aug. 6, 2006, at Gulfport Memorial Hospital. Services were Aug. 9 at Wylie C.

"Buck" Jones, 70, died Aug. 10, 2006, at ZZISZZil Forrest General Hospital. Services were Aug. 14, at Moore, Funeral Chapel in Petal with burial in New Augusta Cemetery. The Rev.

Wesley Gamer officiated and Michael Jones delivered the eulogy. Mr. Jones was retired after 27 years from the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier. He also retired from the U.S.

Army after 20 years, serving in Vietnam and receiving the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. He was a member of Main Street Baptist Church and a member of Masonic Lodge in New Augusta. Survivors include his wife, Mary Jones of New Augusta; three sons, Mark Jones of Boyce, Michael Jones of Clarksville, Term, and Craig Jones of Taegu, South Korea; a daughter, Patricia Johnson of Midlothian, a brother, Raymond Clingon of Bay Springs; two sisters, Wanda Myers of Granite City, 111. and Gladys Jurovich of Spokane, six grandchildren and two AVA JEWEL STEELE HATTIESBURG Ava Jewel Steele, 86, died Aug. 10, 2006, in Houston, Texas.

Services were Aug. 15 at Moore Funeral Chapel in Hattiesburg with burial in Highland Cemetery. Mrs. Steele was a nurse, retiring after 20 years. She was a Methodist and a member of the Order Eastern Star 1088 in Houston.

Survivors include two daughters, Willa Jean Brooks of Houston, Texas and Charlotte Bradburn of Hattiesburg; two sons, Athen Bert Steele and Lonnie L. Steele, both of Hattiesburg; two sisters, Willa Dean Bounds of Hattiesburg and Faye Collins of Ellisville; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Athen Ford Steele. GERMAINE KINKOPF PETAL Germain "Miss Gerry" Kinkopf, 68, died Aug. 12, 2006, at her home in Petal.

Services were Aug. 16 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery. The Rev. Christian Ogbonna and The Rev. Tommy Conway officiated.

Miss Gerry worked for 15 years as the cafeteria manager of Sacred Heart Catholic School where she was a member. Survivors include her husband, William "Bill" Kinkopf Petal; three sons, William Kinkopf of Purvis, Brian Kinkopf of La Porte, Texas and Michael Kinkopf of Petal and six grandchildren. Pallbearers were Bill Kinkopf, Brian Kinkopf, Michael Kinkopf, Terry Bryant, Robert Kirkpatrick, and Toney Sanville. John A. Davis, 60, died Aug.

4, 2006, at Bassfield. JJJJJJJ2JJ Services were Aug. 7 at Hulett-Winstead Sumrall Chapel with burial in the Davis Cemetery in Seminary. Mr. Davis was employed with the Seminary Farm Center as a truck driver and aerial cropduster.

He was a U.S. Army Special Forces Vietnam veteran and member of New Hope Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Carol T. Davis of Seminary; his mother, Alice Blondee Herrin Davis of Seminary; two sons, Billy John Davis of Seminary and Philip Ray Davis of Corpus Christi, texas; a brother, the Rev. Roy Wesley Davis of Shreveport.

RODERICK E. BLACK HATTIESSBURp Roderick E. Black, died Aug. 8, 2006, at his residence. A celebration of life was held Aug.

12 at his residence. Mr. Black was a former sawmill manager of Leaf River Forest Products in New Augusta and a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was past president of the Mississippi Lumber Manufacturers a past member of the Board of Directors of the Hattiesburg Country Club, member of the Mississippi Senior Golf present member of the Hattiesburg Civil Service Commission and the recipient of the Boy Scouts of America Silver Beaver Award.

Survivors include his wife, Yvonne Black of Hattiesburg; two sons, Dr. Bradford T. Black of North Canton, Ohio and Gregory E. Black of Decatur, a daughter, Valerie B. Corrales of Houston, Texas and 10 grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Pine Burr Area Council Boys Scouts of America. AUDELL M. FORD PURVIS Audell M. Ford, 67, died Aug. 10, 2006, at her residence.

Services were Aug. 12 at Hulett-Winstead Sumrall Chapel with burial in the Mixon Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Ford was a homemaker and member of Mixon Creek Baptist Church.
