BALL COLUMBIA Services were held December 10, 2001, at Colonial Funeral Home in Columbia for Caroline Jeanette "Carrie" Ball, 94, of Columbia, who died November 8, 2001, at Marion General Hospital. Interment was at Hopewell Cemetery. Ms. Ball was a retired factory worker and homemaker and was a member of Hopewell Methodist Church.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews. JANE DEAS SEMINARY' Services were held December 11, 2001, at Jones Funeral Home in Moselle for Jane Deas, 50, of Seminary, who died December 8, 2001, at Forrest General Hospital. Interment was at New Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery in Seminary. Mrs. Deas was a homemaker.

Survivors include her mother, Lavada Thrash of Seminary; two sons, Dean Thrash of Seminary and Dale Thrash of Sandersville; one daughter, Sherry McArn of Seminary; two sisters, Shirley Ellis and Joyce Clinton, both of Seminary; two brothers, Jimmy Deas and David Deas, both of Seminary; and eight grandchildren. SADIE HOPE HATTIESBURG Services were held December 11, 2001, at Century Funeral Home in Hattiesburg for Sadie McCarty Hope, 94, of Hattiesburg, who died November 30, 2001, at Forrest General Hospital. Graveside services were held December 9, 2001, at Memorial Gardens of Hardin County in Savannah, for infant Bryan Reece Knight, of Savannah, who died December 8, 2001, at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital in Florence, Ala. Survivors include his parents, Mitzi and Chuck Knight of Atlanta; his grandparents, Danny and Kathy Petty of Savannah, Wilford and Sharion Knight of Sumrall, and Frank and Kim Faucheux of Baton Rouge, his great-grandparents, Opal and Katherine Pleasant, and Buck and Barbara Petty, all of Savannah, and Reecie Douglas of Sumrall; and his great-greatgrandmother, Myrtle Allye of Clifton, Tenn. ANDERSON PURVIS Memorial services December 11, 2001, at were held Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Hattiesburg, for Coy W. Anderson, 84, of Purvis, who died unexpectedly November 29, 2001, at his home. Born in Linton, Mr. Anderson was a retired heating and air conditioner specialists. He served in the U.S.

Navy and was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was preceded in death by his parents, John E. and Mahala Jane Huffman Anderson; a son, Timothy Anderson; a daughter, Yvonne Chesney; and seven brothers and sisters. Survivors include two sons, Nicholas Anderson of Kennesaw, and Nathan Anderson of Las Vegas, four daughters, Yvette Rollins of Springville, Raedawn Lindsey of Solsberry, Leesa Hughes of Bloomington, and Marilyn Swedin of Hurricane, Utah; and 19 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Moore Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

TERRENCE ALLAN DUNN RIVER RIDGE, La. Graveside services were held December 8, 2001, at Highland Cemetery, for Terrence Allan "Terry" Dunn, 56, of River Ridge, who died December 6, 2001, at his home, after a lengthy illness. The Rev. Dwayne Higgason officiated. A native of Hattiesburg, Mr.

Dunn retired in 1996 as vice-president after 30 years with Costal Engineering. He was Baptist. Survivors include a sister, Ima Kathryn Fisher of Moss Point; a niece and several nephews. Moore Funeral Home in Hattiesburg was in charge of arrangements. MRS.

V. C. WALTON HATTIESBURG Services were held December 10, 2001, at Moore Funeral Home in Hattiesburg, for Mrs. V. C.

Walton, 80, of Hattiesburg, who died December 7, 2001, at Wesley Medical Center, following a lengthy illness. The Rev. Mike Shumock officiated. Interment was at Bellevue Cemetery in Lamar County. Born in Neshoba County, Mrs.

Walton was a longtime resident of Hattiesburg where she was retired from Big Yank Corporation. She was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church. Two brothers preceded her in death. Survivors include her husband, W.L. Walton of Hattiesburg; a son, John I.

Walton of Hattiesburg; a daughter, Eloise Lane of Philadelphia, three sisters, Mae Turner of Carthage, Velie Thrash of Elgin, and Gwen Hammerman of Mt. Olive; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Moore Funeral Home in Hattiesburg was in charge of arrangements. IRMA MILLER PETAL Services were held December 10, 2001, at Moore Funeral Home in Hattiesburg for Irma "Dean" Miller, 64, of Petal, who died December 7, 2001, at her home. The Rev.

John Miller and the Rev. Emmett Boone officiated. Interment was at Richburg Cemetery. Born in Lamar County, Mrs. Miller was a homemaker and a Baptist.

Survivors include two sons, Bryan Miller and Daniel Miller, both of Purvis; two daughters, Rhonda Foster of Petal, and Dawn Miller of Purvis; a brother, George Collier of Petal; three sisters, Marie Weatherford of Purvis, and Annie Bell Williams and Inell Martin, both of Hattiesburg; four grandchiidren and one greatgrandchild. Moore Funeral Home in Hattiesburg was in charge of arrangements. MAE HAYS HATTIESBURG Services were held December 9, 2001, at Moore Funeral Home in Hattiesburg, for Mrs. Mae Stevens McLemore Hays, 93, of Hattiesburg, who died December 7, 2001, at her home. The Rev.

David Price officiated. Interment was at Lake Park Cemetery in Laurel. Pallbearers were Allen Hays, Pay Hays, Rich Duncan, Robert Chambers, Kevin Allseitz and Brad Bellman. A native of Columbus, Mrs. Hays was a graduate of Mississippi College for Women and taught in the Jones County School System.

She was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church and former member of First United Methodist Church in Laurel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Emerson Hays. Survivors include a son, Ralph Emerson Hays of Mobile, a daughter, Mary Anne Hays Sumrall of Laurel; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Moore Funeral Home in Hattiesburg was in charge of arrangements. LYNDA VICE WALKER KNOXVILLE, Tenn.

Services were held December 12, 2001, at St. Stephens Catholic Church in Magee, for Lynda Vice Walker, 44, of Knoxville, who died unexpectedly December 8, 2001, at Wesley Medical Center in Hattiesburg. The Rev. Bob Goodyear officiated. Born in Port Sulphur, Mrs.

Walker was an equipment operator for Mobile Oil Company. She was Catholic. Survivors include two daughters, Anna Vice of Collins, and Danica D. Walker of Knoxville, mother, Angela Buras Vodopija of Knoxville, and 'a sister, Marie Lynn Walker of Knoxville, Tenn. Memorials may be made to St.

Stephens Catholic Church, Magee, MS 39111. Moore Funeral Home in Hattiesburg was in charge of arrangements. KATRINA KNIGHT HATTIESBURG Services were held December 11, 2001, at Moore Funeral Home in Hattiesburg, for Katrina Knight, 36, of Hattiesburg, who died December 8, 2001, at Wesley Medical Center. The Rev. Dr.

Rod Smith officiated. Interment was at MacPhela Cemetery in Pascagoula. Born in Jackson, Miss Knight was a student at the University of Southern Mississippi. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Ridgeland. Survivors include her parents, George and Jan Layman of Hattiesburg, and Richard Knight of Louisiana; a brother, Michael Layman of Madison; and a sister, Lisa Willoughby of Jackson.

Moore Funeral Home in Hattiesburg was in charge of arrangements. EDNA EARL OLIVER HATTIESBURG Services were held December 12, 2001, at Moore Funeral Home in Hattiesburg, for Edna Earl Oliver, 55, of Hattiesburg, who died December 9, 2001, at Forrest General Hospital, following lengthy illness. The Rev. Burnis Havard officiated. Interment was at Highland Cemetery.

Born in Smith County, Mrs. Oliver had lived in Hattiesburg for the past 40 years. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. Survivors include her husband, Jerry Oliver of Hattiesburg; a son, Lee Oliver of Hattiesburg; two daughters, Melissa Little and Mary Summers, both of Hattiesburg; her mother, Lois McCraney of Benndale; two sisters, Lace Culpepper of Moselle, and Carolyn Young of Hattiesburg; a brother, Thomas Hester of Hattiesburg; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Moore Funeral Home in Hattiesburg was in charge of arrangements.

ROBBIE VIRGINIA LEE POPLARVILLE Graveside services were held December 14, 2001, at First Baptist Church McNeill Cemetery for Mrs. Robbie Virginia Lee, 73, of Poplarville, who died December 11, 2001, at her residence. The Rev. John Graeter officiated. Interment was at First Baptist Church McNeill Cemetery.

Mrs. Lee was a retired waitress, a member of McNeill First Baptist Church and a lifetime resident of Pearl River County. Survivors include a son, Homer Marchell Lee; several nieces and nephews; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. White Funeral Home of Poplarville was in charge of arrangements. 66 01 DORRIS YOUNG CULVER POPLARVILLE Services were held December 13, 2001, at White Funeral Home Chapel in Poplarville for Mrs.

Dorris Young Culver, 81, of Poplarville, who died December 10, 2001, at Forrest General Hospital. The Rev. Ken Howe officiated. Interment was at Amacker Cemetery. She was a retired registered nurse, a member of Whitesand Baptist Church and a resident of White Sand Community for 15 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Culver, and a daughter, Kathy Ann Culver. Survivors include a son, Charles Culver of Kenner, two daughters, Karen Simmons of Magnolia, Texas, and Berryl Taylor of Poplarville; three sisters, Edythe Thompson of Jackson, Annie Dodds of Hazelhurst, and Laverne McInnis of Byram; a brother, Hubert Young of Crystal Springs; five grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren. White Funeral Home Poplarville was in charge of arrangements. LAVERNE MATEKARICH RUNNELSTOWN Graveside services were held December 14, 2001, at Runnelstown Cemetery, for Laverne Easterling Matekarich, 73, of Runnelstown, who died December 11, 2001, at her home, after a lengthy illness. The Rev.

Henry Freeman officiated. Pallbearers were Mike Graham, Kelsey Murphy, Charlie Hinton, Sammy Murphy, Jason Murphy, Nick Easterling, and Kendall Nobles. A lifelong resident of Runnelstown, Mrs. Matekarich was a homemaker and a former housekeeper for Petal Conva-Rest. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Runnelstown.

Survivors include three daughters, Margaret Murphy, Dona Jean Wilson, and Jan Nobles, all of Runnelstown; a son, Chuck Easterling of Richton; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Moore Funeral Home in Petal was in charge of arrangements. RALPH L. GILES LAUREL Services were held December 12, 2001, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel for Ralph L. Giles, 74, of Laurel, who died December 10, 2001, at his resi- dence.

Interment was at Indian Springs Cemetery in Jones County. Mr. Giles was a brick layer and was a member of Indian Springs Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Bertha Giles of Laurel; one son, Lloyd Giles of Mobile, one brother, Joe Giles of Laurel; four grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren. LEO F.

HALL MOSELLE Services were held December 12, 2001, at Jones Funeral Home in Richton for Leo F. Hall, 73, of Moselle, who died December 10, 2001, at his residence. Interment was at Sunset Cemetery. Mr. Hall was a truck driver.

Survivors include two sons, Roger Hall of Richton and Leo F. Hall of Hattiesburg; three daughters, Angela Hammond and Linda Campbell, both of Moselle, and Renee Conley of Oak Grove; one brother, Sonny Hall of Waynesboro; 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. CORDIE A. HOUGH TAYLORSVILLE Services were held December 12, 2001, at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Smith County for Cordie A. Hough, 96, of Taylorsville, who died December 9, 2001, at South Central Regional Medical Center.

Interment was at Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Hough was a homemaker and was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church. Survivors include three daughters, Nancy Harrison Taylorsville, Peggie Gardner of Newton and Billie Butler of Pearl; one sister, Robbie Nichols of Raleigh; eight grandchildren and 17 greatgrandchildren. CLOIS MITCHELL WIGGINS Services were held December 11, 2001, at Moore Funeral Home in Wiggins for Clois Taylor Mitchell, 88, of Wiggins, who died December 9, 2001, at Wesley Medical Center.

Interment was at Taylor Cemetery in Wiggins. Mrs. Mitchell was a homemaker and was a member of First Baptist Church of Wiggins. Survivors include two sons, Blake Mitchell of Pensacola, and Lane Mitchell of Hattiesburg; one sister, Eloise Crouchley of Maryland; two brothers, Verdum Taylor and Heydun Taylor, both of Wiggins; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. FREDDIE MOORE PRENTISS Services were held December 12, 2001, at Palestine Missionary Baptist Church for Freddie Moore, 70, of Prentiss, who died December 6, 2001, at Forrest General Hospital.

Interment was at Palestine Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Moore served in the U.S. Army, was a retired driller, and was a member of Palestine Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Merline Moore of Ontario, two sons, Willia Bartlett of Ontario, and Omar Ross of San Diego, three daughters, Sylvia Moore of Ontario, Annette Moore of Prentiss, and Denita Deen of Anaheim, one brother, Curtis Moore of Prentiss; one sister, Ruby Blanks of Dayton, Ohio; and four grandchildren.

NORVAL PARKER WIGGINS Graveside services were held December 12 at Woodlawn Cemetery for Norval "Sleepy" Parker, 65, of Wiggins, who died December 10, 2001, at his residence. Mr. Parker was a security guard at Mississippi Gulf Coast Commu- nity College and was a member of the Baptist faith. Survivors include three daughters, Renee Eubanks, Lisa Butler, and Marilyn Walker, all of Wiggins; one sister, Laura Ann Norton of Perkinston; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. MILDRED RICHARDSON HATTIESBURG Graveside services were held December 15, 2001, at Hickory Grove Cemetery in Laurel for Mrs.

Mildred Taylor Richardson, 81, of Hattiesburg, who died December 13, 2001, at Forrest General Hospital. Interment was at Hickory Grove Cemetery in Laurel. She was a homemaker and a member of Main Street Baptist Church. Survivors include Herman L. Richardson, Sr.

of Hattiesburg; a son, Herman L. Richardson, Jr. of Hattiesburg; two daughters, Linda Lowery and Pam Bates, both of Hattiesburg; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Hulett-Winstead Funeral Home. was in charge of arrangements.
